Dieting During Pregnancy
Many medical experts and physicians are against dieting during pregnancy. The reason is not because it's bad for
you but because it weakens the nutrients the baby needs. If you want to lose weight then it is recommended that you
do so before the pregnancy.
The entire lose weight while or before pregnancy is actually
an on going study that has no conclusion at this point. It's best to just make sure you are healthy at all times
during or before with a proper eating and exercise for less problems.
During the first three months of pregnancy the baby will be
forming it's critical organs so eating well is extremely important. Likewise the last 3 months of your pregnancy
the baby will experience rapid growth which also means your eating habits must match the proper calorie and iron
intake to support you and your child.
You only need an extra 40 calories a day to make sure proper
growth is right but your iron and other nutrients may vary so ask your physician.
No junk food or any activity that is not healthy while you are
carrying or it could harm the child and cause problems before and during birth.
Try to eat foods from each of the five food groups every day.
The five food groups include grains, vegetables, fruits, milk products and proteins. Also, be sure you’re getting
the right amount of vitamins and minerals you’ll need to keep you and baby healthy, such as folic acid and
calcium.
